Heuriger Wine Tavern & Cosiness

The Heurige stands for good wine from their own cultivation, delicious home-style cooking, cosiness and an atmospheric feel-good atmosphere. In Austria, Heuriger refers to the so-called Heurigen local where wine is served from the company’s own vineyards. But the wine from the last harvest is also called Heuriger. The right of winemakers and winemakers to serve home-grown wine in their own house without a special license goes back to an ordinance of Emperor Joseph II from 1784 in Austria. In Germany these wine bars are also called Strausswirtschaft. The term Buschenschank is known everywhere. If the bush is hanging at the entrance, it’s open. Some of the Buschenschanken presented here have passed the personal quality test with special distinction. These Buschenschanken bear the exclusive title ‘GerneWieder’ and are marked with this icon

Fine Wines - Tasted for You

Delicious wine is a pleasure – especially with dear friends. Whether on a beautiful summer day in the garden, at the wine tavern or by the fireplace when it is getting colder outside.

But how can you find out whether it is really a noble drop that will please your nose and palate? There are countless wine guides and review platforms where you can count the stars. However, this is not yet a guarantee that you will really buy a great taste experience. The price is also an unreliable guide – a good drop does not always have to be expensive. In the end, only one thing counts: Enjoy the wine that tastes best for you and your guests – regardless of how many stars and awards a wine can boast. Your personal taste is ultimately the measure of all things – and tastes are known to be different.

Some of the wines presented here have passed our taste test with special distinction. These wines carry the exclusive label ‘GerneWieder’ and are marked with the symbol.

Hiking in Romantic Vineyards

Wine hiking in Austria’s and Germany’s most popular wine hiking trails. In between, you can take a leisurely break at a local tavern, or at the Heuriger, as the Viennese say.

Hiking is good for your health and fitness. The heart beats faster, fresh oxygen fills your lungs, and the eye delights in the beautiful romantic landscape. You can sweat a little when you go uphill. When you stop in a cozy tavern, you will be fully compensated. Good food at the Heuriger, a delicious drop of wine from the vine and a lot of cosiness make the day perfect. Why not combine both? Wine hiking is very popular today because it combines two beautiful, pleasant things to make a wonderful sunny day varied.
