Yes – VIENNA is the largest wine city with beautiful vineyards, Heurigen wine taverns and wine hiking trails within and of course outside of the city area. But also in FRANKFURT am Main you can enjoy beautiful wine hiking – Am Lohrberg
Vineyard Lohrberger Hang – Frankfurt
Small but mighty is the motto of the wine hike on the Lohrberg. The Lohrberger Hang vineyard is a little jewel in the northeast of Frankfurt and definitely worth a visit. The view of the Frankfurt skyline is worth seeing and is most beautiful in the early morning. Just follow the circular hiking trail around the vineyard. In the Lohrberg-Schänke and in the MainÄppelHaus you can enjoy local specialties such as Äpplwoi (cider or apple cider), LohrbergWein or Almdudler. Generous green areas also invite you to have a relaxing picnic. There is something for everyone here.
Suggested Route
There is a large, free car park at the Berger Weg/Friedrich-Heyer-Weg intersection. Here you simply go straight ahead through the allotment gardens until you reach the Lohrberger Hang vineyard. Arrived at the vineyard, a great view over the vineyard and the skyline of Frankfurt awaits you. This is where you start the circular hiking trail. If you turn left, you will come to the MainÄppelHaus. Refreshments and a farm shop await you here.
After you have strengthened yourself and refreshed, go along the lower path and walk around the vineyard. Afterwards, a visit to the Lohrberg-Schänke is worthwhile. Of course, you can also hike the circular hiking trail in the opposite direction, or simply take the path across the vineyard.
Conclusion: A very popular and worthwhile destination for wine hikers and nature lovers
