Lorch am Rhein has a lot to offer. Wisper Trails and RheinSteig are just a few of the many hiking trails. Above all, the MOST BEAUTIFUL WINE VIEW Rheingau 2020 is definitely worth a visit.
The vantage point, awarded by the German Wine Institute, is located directly at the foot of the Nollig Castle.
From Lorch to the MOST BEAUTIFUL WINE VIEW Rheingau 2020
This time my journey to Lorch begins with a small Rhine cruise. The adventure begins with the Lorch-Niederheimbach ferry. Arriving in Lorch, there are several ways to hike to the Burg Nollig vantage point. The MOST BEAUTIFUL WINE VIEW Rheingau 2020 is also located there.
One of the hiking routes to Nollig Castle leads from behind through the forest. It begins on Wisperstrasse and then continues on ‘Weiselberg’. Nollig Castle is not explicitly signposted and the castle area is not open to the public.
The ascent through the middle of the vineyards is particularly recommended. The entrance to this route is at the end of Jahnstrasse. Where the road ‘Am Rebenhang’ begins – this is exactly where the ascent to the serpentines to the Nollig Castle viewpoint begins. From here you always have a beautiful view over the Rhine.
MOST BEAUTIFUL WINE VIEW Rheingau 2020
Made! The BEAUTIFUL WINE VIEW Rheingau 2020 viewpoint is located directly next to or below Nollig Castle. Provided you have found the right way to the castle, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view over the Rhine and a bench to rest.
MOST BEAUTIFUL WINE VIEW Rheingau 2020 via the Rheinsteig to Lorchhausen
Refreshed we continue to the next destination – Lorchhausen. The hiking trail through the vineyards has two names here: ‘RheinSteig’ and ‘Wisper Trails – Rhein-Wisper-Glück’. From the rest area with the wine barrel you also have a wonderful view over the Rhine. Then you can already reach the Clemens chapel near Lorchhausen. The wine vending machine presents itself as a wooden hut with a cooling compartment. Simply open the flap and take the chilled wine with you – don’t forget to pay.
From Lorchhausen to the Rosenpavillion vantage point
Another big signpost pointing in all directions. A true hiker’s paradise with many possible routes. You can go down to the village of Lorchhausen or hike back to Lorch via a different path. If you are good on foot, you can also continue hiking to Kaub, about 11 kilometers away.
I will continue my hike to the viewpoint ‘Rosenpavillion’. It goes past the ‘View to the Clemens Chapel’ – this time seen from the opposite side of the slope. A herd of goats grazes on the slope in the shade of the trees. Several information boards provide information about the flora and fauna on the Rheinsteig. And you’ve already reached the ‘Rosenpavilion’ vantage point. One view more beautiful than the other here on the Rheinsteig.
Back to Lorch
After a break at the ‘Rosenpavilion’ I head back to Lorch. I visit the MOST BEAUTIFUL WINE VIEW Rheingau 2020 again to enjoy the panorama even in the afternoon sun. The car ferry on the Rhine can be seen from afar. It crosses the Rhine non-stop – back and forth.
Then it’s time to take the trail down to Lorch. There is still a lot to see on the Wisper Trails – but the next ferry is waiting for me. I enjoy the little cruise over the Rhine one last time and look up at the castle from afar with the MOST BEAUTIFUL WINE VIEW Rheingau 2020.
