Hatzenporter Burg Bischofstein – Riesling Spätlese from the Moselle

Hatzenporter Burg Bischofstein - Riesling Spätlese 2019 - A dry quality wine from the Winzerhaus Hatzenport winery on the beautiful Moselle

On the Traumpfad Hatzenporter Laysteig on the Moselle you can hike through the vineyards. At the end of my wine hiking route with great views of the Moselle valley and the winegrowing town of Hatzenport, I visit the Winzerhaus winery, which is run by winegrower Christian Müller.

In the window, the wine queen Eva Fink and her wine princess Franziska Busch are already smiling at me. At the entrance to the winery, I immediately notice the modern wine vending machine. A dry 2019 Riesling Spätlese from the Mosel arouses my curiosity. The head of the Winzerhaus, Christian Müller, gives me a friendly welcome and hands me the selected late harvest. Before I taste the fine wine in peace and quiet at home, the fine wine is photographed on site in the Hatzenport vineyards for MeinDolceVita in a way that is appropriate to the species.

Conclusion: A Spätlese Prädikatswein does not always have to be sweet. A wine hike on the Traumpfad Hatzendorfer Laysteig is always worth a visit to Hatzenport. You can then choose your favorites during a visit to Christian Müller’s winegrower’s house. Of course, the 2019 Riesling Spätlese is also available as a semi-dry wine – or off-dry, as many Moselle winemakers describe wines with a slightly higher residual sweetness today.

On MeinDolceVita the 2019 Riesling Spätlese receives the title GerneWieder-Wein 2022. The wine and the friendliness of the winemaker Christian Müller were convincing.
