The ‘Traumpfädchen Moseltraum’ in Winningen, not far from Koblenz, is definitely worth a visit and a wine hike.
From the Weilsbornquelle car park to the Vogelsang viewpoint
The hiking car park is located directly on the main road L125 to Winningen at the portal of the ‘Traumpfädchen Moseltraum’. It is advisable to hike the path in a clockwise direction due to a steep ascent. So you walk down the valley via the car park and after just a few steps you reach the freshly bubbling Weilsborn spring. It continues through groves and private gardens along ancient vineyard walls. Always follow the light blue circular markings until you finally reach the Vogelsang viewpoint.
Ascent to the Domgartenhütte
The more strenuous part of the trail begins at the ‘Vogelsang’ vantage point. It’s now a short stretch on tight serpentines over a steep slope up to the Domgartenhütte. But the short ascent is definitely worth it. Arrived at the Domgartenhütte, you can enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful view down into the Moselle valley.
Past grapevines and leisurely back to the parking lot
After the Domgartenhütte, leisurely hiking is the order of the day. Together with the Moselsteig and Rheinburgenweg, the dream path leads between meadows and the edge of a slope. There are always beautiful views. On the route, another bench invites you to rest. At this point you have another wonderful view of the vineyards of Winningen on the Moselle.
Finally, the path descends and you have to cross a depression where the Rheinburgenweg ends. Still together with the Moselsteig trail, the ‘Traumpfädchen Moseltraum’ swings uphill again before it goes through an open corridor back to the L125 road. Here, at the parking lot at the Weilsbornquelle, the circle of this charming round near Winningen closes.

The ‘Traumpfädchen Moseltraum’ is a beautiful short circular hiking trail. It begins and ends at the Weilsbornquelle car park, which is clearly marked with a large flag. The car park is clearly visible next to the main road to Winningen. Winningen Airport is across the street.
