BUNKERWEIN – a 2018 Pinot Noir from the Ahr Valley that has a lot to tell

BUNKERWEIN - AHR 2018 Pinot Noir, an interesting dry Pinot Noir from the Ahr Valley that has a lot to tell.

A tasty Pinot Noir from the Ahr Valley. The BUNKERWEIN comes from the vineyards that surround the former government bunker of the then German government in Bonn. While the 2021 wines still sold well as flood wines after the great flood in the Ahr Valley, our BUNKERWEIN has had time to mature since 2018. Today he has a lot to tell about the history of Europe and also about the great flood in July 2021 in the Ahr Valley.

Did You Know?
The government bunker was an absolute state secret, also for the population in the Ahr Valley, during the time of the so-called Cold War between the West and the Warsaw Pact Eastern Bloc countries. Today the former government bunker in Bonn is open to the public as a memorial. A guided tour through the government bunker is not only extremely interesting for historians and wine lovers. It is a piece of German history that no one can ignore! Speaking of wine lovers – the Ahr Valley red wine hiking trail also leads directly past the government bunker in Ahrweiler.
