Summer 2022 update: Unfortunately, the Heurige W. & I. Nigl was not able to match the very high quality of the Surschnitzerl and the service on the two renewed visits in summer 2022. It is to be hoped that, possibly due to current economic challenges in terms of personnel and high cooking oil prices, there will soon be a trend reversal and the usual high quality, as described below, can be continued again.

Last quality check until 2019: The Surschnitzerl is really highly recommended. Tested several times and always satisfied. The meat is tender and free of tendons and surprises that are better cut off (and maybe even shamefully left under the table). At Nigl, it always tastes delicious (“super delicious” – for our German friends) from the first to the very last bite. A real GerneWieder-Heuriger! In the warmer season you can spend a good time in the secluded garden with friends. There are also good pastry classics at Nigl – to finish off, if nothing else works, the classic punch donut or a delicious foam roll should not be missing.
