Berlin/Mönchhof (OTS) – Without a doubt, there are many national and international wine awards in which some Austrian wines are at the forefront. However, the Keringer winery has been at the forefront of one of the most renowned wine tastings in the world for many years with its entire range of wines: For the incredible twelfth (!) time, the Burgenland winery was able to convince the international jury at the Berlin Wine Trophy 2022, winning the title “Best Producer in Austria” and also one of the coveted “Grand Gold” medals for the premium cuvée MASSIV® Red 2018 fetch home.
The Berlin Wine Trophy has developed into the most important wine tasting in Germany and brings together well-known producers and traders from all over the world every year. The number of samples submitted is growing steadily at almost 15,000 registrations per year (winter and summer edition). At the last winter edition alone, participants from 40 countries submitted their wines for tasting. So the competition for Keringer was great.
For the Keringer winery, the tasting brought a record-breaking result in the last competition: once “Grand Gold” and eleven times gold across the entire range. Much more is not possible due to the strict evaluation guidelines. The premium red wine cuvée MASSIV® Red from the 2018 vintage was able to bring one of the rarely awarded “Grand Gold” medals to Mönchhof (Austria). Great gold for a great wine, whose previous vintage 2017 also achieved 95+ points in an A LA CARTE tasting and thus emerged as the GRAND CRU winner 2021.
Convinced Winemaker With His Own Style
Robert and Marietta Keringer have been running the winery together in the oldest wine-growing community in Austria for 17 years now. The family business in Mönchhof is located in the middle of the Neusiedlersee DAC wine-growing region and is blessed with many positive influences: the Pannonian climate, Lake Neusiedl as a climate regulator with its ability to develop the globally rare botrity rot for grandiose sweet wines, or the large Heideboden site with enormous gravel soil, what comparisons with international wine-growing regions in France more than can withstand.
It has always been important to the dynamic winemaker couple to create exceptional wines that are easy to drink and understand. And their success proves them both right: The Keringers have managed to become one of the most awarded wineries in Austria.
To name just a few recent achievements, last year the winery also became a FALSTAFF Grand Prix winner 2021 and A LA CARTE GRAND CRU Winner 2021. The recent success in Berlin: The “Best Producer Austria” award received for the twelfth time (!) in the international competition at the Berlin Wine Trophy 2022 rounds off the series of successes.
